Ways to Practice

Five ways to learn,
from first exposure to full passages

From first exposure to timed recall, from solo review to live competition, all the way to typing out full reading passages — built for every stage of learning and every classroom moment.

Flashcards

Flip through characters, pinyin, English meaning, and example sentences, with native audio in both Chinese and English. Great for a first look at new words or a quick review before a test.

Self-paced browsing

Match

Flip and pair characters with their meanings against the clock — the faster the match, the higher the score. Each lesson has its own leaderboard to keep students coming back.

Gamified recall

Practice

Two question types — type the character you see, or fill in the blank from its meaning. Anything missed goes straight into the student's mistake list.

Typing · fill-in-the-blank

Live Game

A teacher hosts, and everyone answers in real time on a shared leaderboard. After the round, the teacher can review exactly which words each student missed.

Live classroom competition

Typing Test

Every passage is drawn from the official Mandarin Proficiency Test (普通话水平测试) reading list. Students type the pinyin while reading along with the characters, practicing pronunciation, character recognition, and typing all at once. Speed and accuracy are logged straight into the progress report.

Pronunciation · recognition · typing, all in one
Signature Feature

A missed word doesn't just get crossed off —
it follows the student until it's truly learned

Whether a word is missed in Match, Practice, or a Live Game round, it's automatically added to that student's own My Mistakes list. From there, students can pull up just their missed words for a focused round of Match or Practice.

A word doesn't disappear the first time it's answered right — it takes 3 correct answers, cumulative (a wrong answer in between doesn't reset the count), before it's actually cleared. That way a lucky guess never gets mistaken for real mastery.

How it works
01 Miss a word in Practice or a Live Game → it's added to My Mistakes
02 Students can select My Mistakes as a pool for Flashcards / Match / Practice
03 After 3 cumulative correct answers, the word is cleared automatically
Progress Reports

Students see their own progress. Teachers see the whole class.

Once signed in, students can see how many words they've mastered per lesson, their accuracy, and their history. Teacher accounts can also see every student's practice counts and completion per lesson.
